"Today, we remember Sharpeville" ~ Ban Ki-Moon
UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon
reiterates the perpetual message against Racism as Cape Coasts Central
District Regional Chief Dr Nana Gyepi has for years, in declaring Friday as a day for
"people around the world are marking the International Day for
the Elimination of Racial Discrimination for the first time following
the death of Nelson Mandela. This year, the Day is a reminder to us all
of his courageous struggle against apartheid and his inspiring victory
over the racist forces that had imprisoned him for 27 years." Dr. Nana Gyepi
not only calls for one day but a life-time of social justices!
Nelson Mandela addressing the Special Committee Against Apartheid in the UN General Assembly Hall, 1990.

"Today, we remember Sharpeville as a symbol of the terrible toll of racism, and we honour those who lost their lives during the massacre. At the same time, we recall that President Mandela framed Sharpeville’s legacy as an unwavering resolve to protect the dignity and rights of all people."
"On this Day, I call on each one of us to speak out and stand up to racism wherever and whenever we see it happen. Let’s tackle racial hatred, taking inspiration from the proven ability of individuals to respect, protect and defend our rich diversity as one human family." These are the words spoken by Mr Ban Ki-Moon in an article entitled: "LET'S FIGHT RACISM"
Ban Ki-Moon Secretary General United Nations |
The article on 'Linked-In' sported the above photo of Mr Nelson Mandela where Secretary Ki-Moon continues to reiterate the need for people all around the world to reflect on and make changes to do the right thing that would eliminate the disparaging blight of racism.
"The lessons of South Africa’s staunch defence of equality “out of the many Sharpevilles” in the country’s history can be applied anywhere in the world, not only in response to organized, institutional forms of racism but wherever it occurs, including in our daily interactions with others – from the workplace, to the classroom, to our personal lives."
As an advocate against racism and after reading the most wonderfully positive comments made by others from the above article, I must add that of which I believe to be the major consensus that adds to Racism within the USA. Most of us recognize that education is the ‘key’!
In the United States racism is either inadvertently or knowingly perpetuated from failure to include the positives and contributions of nations of people from history in the public school System. US Schools historically avert teachings of diversity that would cause racism to implode destroying those ignorance’s that causes one to hate another human being.
Immigrants are taught the basis of US Government for citizenship and left to their own inclinations and what they see on the news or perhaps from another misinformed source to misjudge other races of people. As long as the history of a people is being taught from a negative perspective or are excluded from core subjects of academics within the public school system, racism will continue to have a hold in US society.
We must all play our part. It starts with a change of mindsets. Racism, biases, hatred and intolerance are learned behaviors. They are like yeast, which leavens the entire loaf.
We cannot continue to bury our heads in the sand or turn them the other way. The "R" word is NOT going away on its own! Therefore, we must Rid Ourselves of the Damn Cursed Thing, cultivate true love and empathy for all of mankind if we are to survive as a people.

Traditional Chief Continues Mandela's Fight
His Excellency Dr. Nana Kweku Egyir Gyepi III
Akyempimhen of Oguaa Traditional Area Central Region Cape
Coast Ghana
Home of the Slave Castle
Dr. Nana Kweku Egyir Gyepi III is a Traditional Senior Chief of Cape Coasts Central Region in Ghana, West Afrika. His Excellency Chief Nana Gyepi has been fighting against apartheid alongside many others with Nelson Mandela. He and Queen Mother Moore has lobbied against apartheid in Afrika as well as racism within the USA. Chief Gyepi, like Mr. Mandela was fighting for the basic inherent rights for all people, he too has been erroneously and fictitiously included in the Terrorist Watch List by the United States.
I use the word 'fight' over 'legacy' merely because without continual striving against racism and the injustices that accompany it, the legacy will fade away into the annals of history; the dream will soon be forgotten as foreign influences began to position themselves, even now, to uproot the legacy that Nelson Mandela left behind.
It was not until 2008, 15 years after Mr. Mandela received the Nobel Peace Prize that he was removed from "The List". It appears doubtful, yet hopeful that Chief Nana Gyepi III will be freed from this false stigmatization of government racial profiling.
Now, with Homeland Security, one is no longer label as a Communism but as a "terrorist"! Therefore, those who speak out against the injustices of racism and apartheid are continually on FBI Watch and being denied the right to travel to the USA.
Chief Nana Gyepi III along with hundreds of Ghanians, have their money continually taken by the US Embassy as their Visa’s are denied without reason and without cause!
Once again, Afrikans are being ripped apart from their loved ones who live in the US by an undercurrent of racism, false assumptions and judgments by autocratic government entities.
The USA and the entire World, particularly those who were major players in the Transatlantic Slave Trade, has always turned blind eyes away from racial injustices and apartheid! Religious leaders poisoned Christian’s minds with racial inequality and anti-apartheid hatred! Although almost everyone agreed that apartheid was wrong; they say their tired of having Blacks “pull the race card”, however those who fought against apartheid and racism were and are viewed as uppity Afrikans; and, accused and treated as terrorist and communist!
When the apartheid government declared Mr. Mandela a terrorist, America declared him a terrorist! When apartheid racist government deemed him a Communist, Americans called Afrikans who wanted freedom from their oppressors Communist. All of America were in acquiesce and understood that to be a terrorist and Communist was certainly far worse and more unlawful than their racism and apartheid!
Will this editor and transcriber be put on the "List"? Probably! However, chances are that I already am. Will this keep me quiet from proclaiming Truth? Certainly not! This is my election as an Apostle; to tear down unjust walls, uproot evil and to come against anything that is anti God; anything that comes against the Character of a just Creator! I AM the person I was created to be; the Afrikan that they have taught me to be. There is nothing ‘they’ have not already done to me with exception to murder. I am not that big of a fish. However, as President Obama spoke a quote from Mr. Mandela, that rings true in the heart of Dr. Nana Gyepi III, I and millions of others, “I have cherished the ideal for a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die”!
Slavery and living under a racist fascist government, posing as a democracy, is worse than death and therefore, freedom to live is an inherent blessing that “I am prepared to die” for!
Slavery and living under a racist fascist government, posing as a democracy, is worse than death and therefore, freedom to live is an inherent blessing that “I am prepared to die” for!
Religious leaders such as Jerry Falwell of ‘Lynchburg’, VA came against the ANC (African National Congress) and the release of Mandela. He and many other ‘good ole boys’ and so-called Christian leaders poisoned the minds of the American people against the ANC, Mandela and Black Afrikans in South Afrika.
Falwell also criticized Martin Luther King Jr in his fight for Civil Rights for Afrikans basic inherent right on US soil.
Surly, if the US acknowledged apartheid in South Afrika, that would mean that they would have to acknowledge the mistreatment of Afrikan Americans at home. Therefore, they remained silent.
“The liberal media has for too long suppressed the other side of the story in South Afrika” Falwell said. “It is very important that we stay close enough to South Afrika so that it does not fall prey to the clutches of Communism”.
The 700 Club Pat Robertson was pro apartheid and against Mandela. Dick Chaney, George Will, Grover Norquist even traveled to South Afrika to show their support against Mandela and for apartheid! The Heritage Foundation was against Mandela, without a doubt Ronald Reagan was adamantly and steadfast against him. Others included William F. Buckley, Jessie Helms and Jack Flake. Obviously many hold the same racist sentiments today to continue to reject +Senator John Conyers Jr H.R. 40 Bill year after year after year!
Even today, a few days after the funeral services of Mr Mandela, Bill O’Reilly on the FOX Network, felt the need to declare, not once but a number of times, that Mr. Mandela was a Communist! While featuring conservatist Rich Santorum, a former presidential candidate. O’Reilly said of Mandela that he was “a great man” but that “He was a communist, this man. He was a communist, alright? But he was a great man! What he did for his people was stunning!...He was a great man! But he was a communist”, O’Reilly of the Fox Network chimed. This was spoken after Santorum gave Mandela kudos, then tied Obama Care to South Afrikans oppressive apartheid government regime.
Doubtful the Fox Network will have anything to say about Mr. O’Reilly’s “White Privileged” remarks of disparagement. While he hypercritically defending his views that God only has a right to judge. On his show, The O’Rielley Factor, quoting from the Gospel of Luke, O'Reilley condemned (Duck dynasty) Robertson’s bigoted biased behavior! But this was OK for O’Reilly because he wrote a book about Jesus!
“It was a Republican-led U.S. Senate that stood up and defied President Reagan in October 1986, voting to override his veto of a sanctions bill that had passed both House and Senate with bipartisan support.” Says Eleanor Clift, "In a move that would seem unthinkable today, Senate Republicans banded together with Democrats in and overturn Ronald Reagan veto of South Africa sanctions.”
By this time Mr. Mandela had been in prison for 23 years and would serve yet another 4 years of voiceless, spineless inactivity and lack of support from around the World with his racist unlawful captors before he was released. Conspiracy to overthrow Afrika? What was the European/British Government invaders of Afrikas charges?
Yet, still as Mandela continued to strive for freedom for all Afrikans, so does His Grace Dr. Nana Gyepi III and many others that fight against the racial disparities both home and abroad. He continues to fight the good fight of faith praying that justice be done that restitution be made to our people! “Reparations must be made”, Said the Chief.
The Chief, Dr. Nana Gyepi’ motto is:
“Never We Forget”!
They took hundreds of millions of our people away in chains, brutally tortured them killing thousands as they realized their own greed, tossing our people into the sea to lessen the load and to stretch their food supply! Using the Bible to keep Afrikans as slaves—“Slaves seek not to be free”, while conveniently forgetting the rest of their Bible, “Masters grant to your slaves justice and fairness…give up threatening"; millions of Afrikans were murdered for merely wanting their god-given inherent rights of freedom.
The United States was the only Country that refused indentured servitude. Unlike
the Jewish Holocaust, where Jews were herded into cattle cars to be
extinguished, the Afrikans were first made to work before being murdered!
Afrikans were beaten, tortured, burned, skinned alive, castrated, hung and mutilated; our women were raped and breed like cattle.
They were ripped from their families and worked until they could no longer be used as a beast of burden then they were killed.
Chief Nana Gyepi III has called for World peace! He has called for the Nations and Heads of States to stop closing their eyes to the injustices of racism; to end “industrialized apartheid” and racism for our people World-wide and to promote and have World Peace. Without freedom there can be no peace!
The overthrow and banishment of apartheid and racism has become a mere token; a topical cover-up to ease the conscious of many injustices then and now being perpetuated against our people. These coverups serves the raciest countries who benefited and are still reaping from slave labor! Dr. Nana Gyepi III has called for restitution and reparations for Afrikans home and abroad!
How Portugal, Britain, Spain, Nigeria, Europe, South Afrika and the Americas would like to
wash their atrocious deeds away like an ebbing tide; to whisk their injustices under the rug thinking that the detriments of the Transatlantic Slave Trade will no longer be remembered; that the sands of time will disappear!
Their rejections and holding onto their gross neglect and refusal to be culpable for the wrongs they have inflicted and perpetuated upon Afrikans has only served to strengthened resolve in the
Afrikan. However, these countries ungodly acts of racism, the continual raping and denigration of Afrikan Nations has been branded eternally in the mind of every Afrikan—“Never We Forget”
H.R.M. Dr. Nana Kweku Egyir Gyepi III, S.D. Chief of Cape Coast Ghana
